2024 elections: PNP confirms Janet Nabla as flagbearer

The People’s National Party (PNP) has confirmed leader and national chairperson Janet Asana Nabla as the flagbearer for the December 7 elections.

The decision was reached at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Sunday, September 1.

Per the decision, Dr Edmund Ayesu was also confirmed Madam Asana Nabla’s running mate.

“This pivotal decision marks a significant step forward in the PNP’s journey to provide Ghana with a leadership team committed to transformative change,” a statement issued on Monday, September 2 said.

Madam Asana Nabla has a rich background in public service, health administration and political leadership.

She is said to bring an unwavering commitment to the values of gender equality, economic sovereignty and social justice.


She was the first female General Secretary of a political party in Ghana while at the helm at the People’s National Convention (PNC).

Her running mate is a respected academic and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Social Science Research at the Kumasi Technical University.


His experience in applied econometric modeling, policy design, and civil society activism is said to align with the PNP’s vision of a prosperous and equitable Ghana.

“Their combined expertise, passion, and strategic vision are set to redefine Ghana’s path to progress, focusing on the pillars of Family, Community, and the Motherland,” the PNP said in the statement issued by General Secretary Suleman Seidu.


The party called on all Ghanaians to rally behind the new leaders as “we work together towards a future that prioritises the well being and prosperity of every citizen”.
