Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George, has described the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as a “twisted tech conman”.

He said the Vice President is currently looking for a place in the technical world although he has absolutely no idea in that field.

“The head of our economic management team who was supposed to be the Messiah and was also supposed to be an economic wiz-kid has become a twisted tech conman looking for a place and a space in the arena of technology. Something he has absolutely no idea about,” Sam George said.

He said Dr Bawumia has messed up the country’s economy.

He also stated that under the watch of the Vice President, the country’s debt has risen by GH₵ 214 billion.

"This is someone who told us that he has arrested the dollar and that there was not going to be depreciation. The currency has depreciated by almost 50 per cent under his watch,” he said on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Sam George said the country’s euro bond is currently worthless and no investor wants to buy them.

"Nobody sees any hope in this economy. And nobody sees any opportunity in it,” the Ningo-Prampram lawmaker said.

Recently, a number of Ghanaians have shared their opinions on the Vice President’s push to digitise the country’s economy.

Some people believe it will help revive the economy while others see it as an unnecessary initiative that the Vice President is using to shift focus from the country's struggling economy.
