Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs, has said Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, means business in efforts to digitalise the economy.
Allotey Jacobs stated that people cannot criticise the effort that the Vice President is putting in to make Ghana a digital economy.
He said the Vice President, through the digitalisation project, is creating a government machinery that will help eliminate corruption from the county.
“It is going to eliminate corruption [among] politicians, civil societies and government agencies and also those running the agencies,” Allotey Jacobs said.
The former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC also said that Dr Bawumia has involved students in the digitalisation process by promising them laptops and planning to upload the various Senior High School courses on the internet.
He indicated that it is the beginning of a new age since most young males and females will gain more knowledge about ICT and its usefulness in society.

He stated that for a long time, politicians and previous governments have refused to position Ghanaians towards a path that will improve their lives but this initiative will be very beneficial to the people in the country.
"This is the sense of direction that will improve the lives of lots of people in this country. Yesterday we heard it and that is the purpose vehicle that has been specially made to do that,” he said.
Allotey Jacobs said that this initiative will also help solve the unemployment problem in the country since people will be employed to operate the various equipment that will be used.
He also stated that if Ghanaians support this digitalisation project with sincerity, the country will be a nice place to live in.
