The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will on November 10, 2024, engage with parents and students to outline his plans for the future of education in Ghana.

A statement issued by his campaign team said the candidate will use the opportunity to explain how he intends to protect the free senior school policy and technical and vocational education, considering parents' concerns over the policy's future.

The engagement will also afford him the chance to present to the parents and students his broader plans for every young person in Ghana to acquire knowledge and skills so they would live a productive, dignified, and fulfilling life.

In the next Sunday’s special live broadcast on education, the NPP will be engaging parents and students directly, outlining the presidential candidates commitment to protect and deepen the quality of education from kindergarten to free SHS and free TVET.’’

According to the statement, the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, will be making a comprehensive presentation on behalf of the Vice President on why the NPP seeks to focus on SETM education.

The engagement with the parents and students is dubbed "Protecting Free SHS, Providing Skills for Jobs—The Bawumia Plan".
