Suspended General Secretary of PNC Atik Mohammed has accused the leader of the party Dr Edward Mahama of appointing his former bodyguard as acting General Secretary of the party.
Atik Mohammed in an interview with PrimeNewsGhana said Jacob Amoako who was appointed as the acting General Secretary and the Director of Communications of the party, Emmanuel Wilson, are individuals being used by the leader of the party Dr Edward Mahama to cause confusion in the party.

According to him, Jacob Amoako has no locus to hold himself as the acting General Secretary of the party, because he is only recognised as the bodyguard of Dr Edward Mahama, a job he has done for 12 years.
Dr Edward Mahama must resign
Atik Mohammed has backed calls for the resignation of the party leader Dr Edward Mahama as suggested by the National Chairman Bernard Mornah.
The two contend the appointment given to the leader of the party Dr Mahama will not permit him to work effectively.
Dr Edward Mahama was appointed an ambassador at large by the NPP government which saw some members of the PNC raising concerns about the fact that the leader cannot be objective again.
Bernard Mornah likely to be suspended
Vice Chairman Henry Asante of PNC revealed that the National Chairman of the party, Bernard Mornah, will be suspended if he is unable to provide adequate reasons for allowing suspended General Secretary Atik Mohammed to sit with him when they met the President on behalf of the party on January 4.
According to him, Bernard Mornah must explain beyond all doubts why he did not object to Atik Mohammed holding himself as General Secretary at the meeting on Thursday, knowing very well that he had been suspended.
President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, on January 4, 2018, met leaders of the various political parties in Ghana to seek their views on some governance-enhancing measures his administration intends to take.
Atik Mohammed dares party officials to cause his arrest
Atik Mohammed in response to a press statement signed by the Director of Communications Emmanuel Wilson accusing him of impersonation said the press statement is not the position of the party but rather that of Mr Wilson.
In an interview with primenewsghana, he dared party members to go ahead and cause his arrest as stated in the press statement.
