A group that champions the ideals of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, New Afrikan Network, has said happenings on the African continent calls for a revisit to the ideals of Ghana’s first President.
In a statement released on September 21, 2021, to celebrate Nkrumah Memorial Day, the group said the demand for Nkrumahism in Ghana and on the African continent is high due to the current political instabilities that are plaguing the continent.
“It is, therefore, of no mean significance that, the current torrential political instabilities crisscrossing the continent, the demand for Nkrumahism is increasingly becoming most pronounce,†the group said.
New Afrikan Network says it is committed to upholding and promoting the ideology of Dr Kwame Nkrumah and pan-Africanism.
The group said the African Union (AU) and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) that were founded to represent, champion, animate and promote pan-Africanism has also relaxed on their duties and responsibilities.
The group stated that recent coups in some African countries is a testament to the irrelevance of these organisations.
In the press statement, the group also appealed to all Africans, both at home and in the diaspora, to regroup and fuel the ideas of pan-Africanism that were hatched by the founding fathers of the pan-Africanist movement.
The group also expressed their disapproval of the recent crop by political leaders who tamper with constitutions to enable them to extend their stay in office.
The New Afrikan Network further encouraged all persons who believe in Nkrumahism to rise up to the battle to protect the ideals that embody it and dutifully defend the anti-Nkrumah propaganda.
