Ghana international, Asamoah Gyan has been selected to join a host of football pundits, coaches and former players in SuperSport’s coverage of the AFCON 2021.
The former Liberty Professionals and Legon Cities striker is expected to use his rich experience acquired in the game to provide in-depth analysis for viewers of the African pay-TV channel throughout the tournament.

"CONFIRMED: Asamoah Gyan, Africa’s all-time leading World Cup scorer, will be among the specialist analysts fronting up SuperSport’s LIVE coverage of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon," a tweet on the pay-TV channel said.

Gyan, former Black Stars captain who also is Ghana's all-time top scorer after netting 51 goals and the highest-scoring African in world cup history is 'excited about the challenge.'

The delayed AFCON 2021 which is will be staged in Cameroon will kick off on Sunday, January 9 to February 6.
Asamoah Gyan's has been housed in Group C with Morocco alongside Comoros and Gabon.
The Black Stars – four-time African champions open their campaign on Monday, January 10 against the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
The Black Stars are aiming to end the 40-year wait for the AFCON trophy having last won the tournament in Libya in 1982.
Ghana after winning her fourth AFCON title in 1982 has since appeared 6 times in the semi-finals, reaching the finals on three occasions.
