CAF have awarded Uganda the rights to host the 2020 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have confirmed the news on Friday, November 30, afternoon shortly after CAF passed the decision in an Executive Committee meeting that is sitting in Accra, Ghana.
"Our efforts in developing the game in Uganda are reaping fruits. It has been a great journey for beach soccer in this country. We have led on all fronts in the region in developing the game. We thank CAF for giving us this opportunity. We shall not disappoint," FUFA Vice President Justus Mugisha said shortly after confirming.
FUFA president, Eng. Moses Magogo who is also a CAF executive committee member is the confederation’s head of Futsal and Beach soccer committee.
This year's edition will be hosted by Egypt. Uganda failed to qualify after losing to Ivory Coast in a two-legged qualifier. The tournament also double as FIFA World cup beach soccer qualifiers.
