Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger together with Togo national team head coach Claude Le Roy have been awarded the highest honor of Liberia at a ceremony held in the capital, Monrovia, on Friday.
Arsene Wenger,68, has been honored with the title of Knight Grand Commander of the Humane Order of African Redemption by his former player now-President of Liberia George Weah.
The Frenchman was the former coach of Liberia President George Weah during his football spell at Monaco.
The Arsenal Legendary manager coached Weah three decades ago in 1998.

Togo National Team manager Claude LeRoy also received his award at the ceremony.
It is Claude LeRoy who recommended George Weah, who was playing for Cameroonian side Tonnerre Yaoundé at the time to Arsene Wenger who was in charge of Monaco.

According to Liberia’s Information Minister Eugene Nagbe, Arsene Wenger has contributed massively to sports in Africa and has given Africans opportunities to showcase their potentials. Â
