Asamoah Gyan closes in on move to Indian Club NorthEast United

Black Stars forward Asamoah Gyan is closing in on a switch to Indian Club NorthEast United.

Gyan 33, is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor at the just-ended season.

According to checks, Gyan is in advance talks with Guwahati based club and should all go well, the Black Stars all-time top scorer with 51 goals will be moving to Asia again.

Signing for NorthEast United will see, Gyan joining his tenth since making his debut for Liberty Professionals in 2003.

The 2019/20 Indian Super League start on 20 October, 2019 but NorthEast United will be in action on Monday against defending champions Bengaluru.

Gyan from Liberty Professionals signed for Udinese in 2003, he spent two years on loan at Serie B club Modena after which joined French club Rennes.

Playing there for two seasons, Gyan made a big move to England signing for Sunderland in a club-record £13 million under then manager Steve Bruce. He scored on his Sunderland debut against Wigan Athletic.

From Sunderland, he made the trip to Asia where he played for three clubs (Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG, Al Ahli Dubai) in 6-years. 

In 2017, Gyan join Turkish based club Kayserispor and leaving on August 2019.
