General Manager of Asante Kotoko, George Amoako has stated that AshantiGold lacks professionalism and his outfit has abandoned the chase on 3 players of them. 

The Porcupine Warriors have been seeking for the services of Shafiu Mumuni, Richard Djodi, James Akaminko to augment their squad for the African campaign. 

Coach C.K Akunnor who worked with the trio during his time in Obuasi has made a request to the management of his outfit to sign them as he intends to sharpen his attack for the Africa campaign.

President of the Miners, Dr Frimpong yesterday disclosed in an interview confirmed that his regional rivals have officially written seeking for the services of 3 players.

"My CEO (Fredrick Acheampong) phoned me and confirmed to me of Kotoko's said Dr Frimpong on Fox FM.

In a twist of events, the Reds General Manager has disclosed in an interview on Asempa Fm that, they have abandoned the chase of the 3 players due to AshantiGold's unprofessionalism.

"We wrote officially to them requesting for the 3 players, we expected them to do same, but we have not received any official letter from them said George Amoako.

"But they are all over the media bragging when they have not even responded to us officially.

"That is unprofessional and we're not interested in dealing with unprofessional stuff.

The miners have slapped $1 million on Ivorian Dodji while Shafiu Mumuni and James Akaminko are valued at $500,000.

Asante Kotoko have been drawn in Group C against Sudanese Al Hilal, Zambia duo Nkana FC and Zesco United. The Reds kickstarts with an away match against Al Hilal on February 3.
