Atletico Madrid are looking to ward off interest from Manchester United and Arsenal by giving Thomas Partey a new deal with a £93million release clause.Â
The midfielder starred over two legs in the Champions League win over Liverpool and has delivered consistently for Diego Simeone's side this season.Â
There is plenty of interest in his signature and at present, the Ghanaian's release clause is £47m.

The club are desperate to ensure they are either paid the market rate for Partey or can keep him on their books.Â
Negotiations over the new deal have begun, according to Goal, and the 26-year-old's future could be decided in the coming weeks.  Â
They also report that he would be offered an increase of his salary up to £80,000-a-week.Â
Simeone's side are not unduly concerned about Partey leaving the club as it stands but failure to agree a new contract could put them in a precarious position.Â
Partey is a dynamic midfielder and more of a box-to-box player than someone deployed in the holding role.Â
The departure of Gabi has meant Partey has more defensive requirements but he has managed to ably fill the void. Â
With the LaLiga season suspended for coronavirus, Atletico are currently sixth in the table but only trail Sevilla in third by a point.
