Black Stars to know opponents for AFCON 2025 qualifiers today

The Ghana's Black Stars will know their opponents for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers when the draw is held today, July 4.

Ghana is in Pot 1 with African Champions Cote D’Ivoire, host Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, DR. Congo, South Africa and Mali.

Others include Algeria, Tunisia and Cameroon.

According to CAF, the seeding is based on the official FIFA ranking issued on the 20th of June 2024. The 48 teams qualified to participate in the 2nd round of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025 qualifiers have been seeded into 4 levels:

There will be 12 Groups of 4 teams (Group A to L) II. The first and the runner up of the 11 groups where the host is not playing will qualify to the final tournament. For the group of the host, since the host is automatically qualified only one team will qualify from the group.

The draw will take place in Johannesburg on Thursday at 14h30 12h30 GMT,

The draw will see a total of 48 African nations engaged to determine who qualifies for the 35th edition of the biggest event on African soil.
