Social media have hailed Asante Kotoko defender, Daniel Darkwah for his scintillating performance in the CAF Confederation Cup game against Nkana FC on Sunday.
Darkwah, who had his first and only start in Kotoko’s Confederation's Cup campaign, was occasioned by the absence of club captain, Amos Frimpong, on disciplinary grounds.
The 27-year-old left back was finally given a chance to impress by coach C.K Akonnor on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
And he didn’t disappoint looking dangerous throughout and registered an assist to Emmanuel Gyamfi's goal and Kotoko's second on the day.
Kotoko went on to be comfortable winners against Nkana with Abdul Fatawu, Martin Antwi and Emmanuel Gyamfi netting in the 3-0 victory.
Daniel Darkwah had however been out of action for several weeks having sustained an injury but put on a great performance against the Zambian side.Â
Fans took to social media to talk about the impressive Daniel Darkwah and told Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah he needs to give the enterprising left back an opportunity in the senior national team ahead of the forthcoming AFCON to be held in Egypt.
Daniel Darkwah provided width yesterday. It's refreshing to see a cultured left-footed playing left-back. Has pace, grit & power. Joined Kotoko few years late because his best days were with Aduana, but boy, what a player he is. Keep Darkwah at LB & Amos at RB. Period

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, C.K Akonnor after the game expressed extreme satisfaction and admiration for the injury returnee stating that "Daniel Darkwah was a risk, but sometimes you need to take that risk, I am proud of the young man, I thought he would not last the full ninety but he did.
Next up for the Reds is a match day five game against Sudanese side and group leaders Al Hilal in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Akonnor's side currently sit second, a point behind Al Hilal who lead the way.
It will be interesting to see if Daniel Darkwah retains his place in Akonnor's starting eleven on Sunday.
