Former Black Stars and Ajax midfielder Yakubu Abubakar has passed on in Accra on Tuesday afternoon after battling with illness for sometime.
The 36 year old passed on at the Tema Government Hospital where he was receiving treatment.Â
He played for Dutch clubs Ajax and Vitesse and was a member of the Black Stars squad that qualified Ghana for their first ever FIFA World Cups in 2006.
Yakubu won the Eridivise twice with Ajax in 2002 and 2004.
