Ghana international Ernest Nuamah's season is over after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury over the weekend.
The winger came off in the seventh minute of Olympique Lyon's league game against Lille on Saturday, April 5.
Nuamah's injury followed his duel with Lille defender Gabriel Gudmundsson in the fifth minute, forcing him off two minutes later with Lyon going on to pick a 2-1 win at home.
Following tests carried out by the Lyon medical team, the player is confirmed to have ruptured his ligament, which brings his season to an abrupt end.
The forward will also be out for an extended period, becoming the fourth Ghanaian to suffer an ACL injury this season following similar ones to Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Alidu Seidu and Abdul Mumin.
Nuamah has been an integral part of Lyon's season, scoring three goals and setting up another one in the league. He also has the same numbers in nine appearances in the UEFA Europa League.
