Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak say they are engaging their captain Fatawu Mohammed to renew his contract with the club.
Fatawu Mohammed is in the final days of his contract with the Ghanaian giants. Fatawu who last signed a contract with the Phobians on a two-year deal in December 2019 is set to expire at the end of this month.
Meaning the defender will be a free agent from January.
However, Kwame Opare Addo Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Hearts of Oak has confirmed in an interview with Asempa FM on Wednesday, December 29 that his outfit is engaging Fatawu to renew his contract.
According to him, the club will make public they reach an agreement with the player.

Fatawu Mohammed joined Hearts of Oak in 2013 from Real Tamale United and has become an indispensable figure in the squad for Hearts of Oak, guiding the one-time CAF Champions League winners to their 21st Ghana Premier League title season.
In another development, Hearts of Oak will host Berekum Chelsea in their outstanding Ghana Premier League matchday 5 game at the Cape Coast Stadium today, December 29.
The fixture was postponed due to the Defending league champions’ participation in the CAF competition preliminary matches.
The rate for the match is GHS 10 and 15. The clash kicks off at 3 pm.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association has said that dates for Hearts of Oak’s remaining outstanding matches against Medeama and Asante Kotoko will be announced soon.
