Hearts Of Oak's impressive run in their offseason matches continued on Saturday, February 9 after they trounced Kpando-based Heart Of Lions 3-2 at the Pobiman Sports Complex.
Defender Christopher Bonney opened the score for the Phobians with a stunning free-kick on the 37th minute of the game.
Two minutes later, Samuel Agbenega leveled the score for the Kpando-based club to end the first half in a one-all draw.
After recess, Hearts Of Oak continued to dominate the match with brilliant passes and fearsome attacks on the back line of Lions.
Goalkeeper Ben Mensah made a good save from a free kick hit just outside the box by Lions in search of the lead in the 64th-minute mark.
Former Hasaacas striker Anthony Quayson restored the lead for Coach Kim Grant's side on the hour mark.
Newly signed attacker Kofi Kordzi scored from a rebound after Lions keeper could not stop a Stanley Agyei's effort in the 82nd minute.
A late goal from Sule Musah wasn't enough for the Division One League side as the match ended in a 3-2 win in favor of Hearts of Oak.
Hearts of Oak will travel to face lower-tier side Pacific Heroes in a friendly on Sunday.
Hearts Of Oak should be full of confidence ahead of the start of the Special competition being organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC). That competition is expected to kick off next weekend if everything goes according to plan.
