Former Ghanaian footballer Awudu Issaka has described the money he gives to referees as an 'appreciation'.
Awudu Issaka owns an academy as well as a second Divison team in Ghana.
With regards to club owners giving bribes, the former Ghanaian player says what he grants to referees is called an appreciation'.

"I give appreciation to referees, appreciation is when the referees come and officiate a fair match"

"I sympathize with the referees because they are not paid, I receive them as visitors, offer them drinks"

"After the match, I give them lorry fare, I do this either I lose or win." Awudu Issaka told Asempa FM.

He also said that referees accepting bribe to fix matches can never be stopped in Ghana.
