New IBF Lightweight champion Richard Commey has touched down in the country after knocking out Isa Chaniev from Russia in Texas.
Commey stopped the Russian in round two to claim his first World title after a failed attempt in his first crack.
The new IBF champion arrived this afternoon in the company of his Managing Director Michael Amoo-Bediako Snr and he was welcome by Ghana Boxing Association President Peter Zwennes as well as well-wishers.
Commey (28-2, 25 KOs) scheduled to box Vasiliy Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KOs) on April 12 will miss out on the planned fight after he sustained a right-hand injury against Isa Chaniev.
