Delegates of Ghana on Thursday elected new leaders to steer the affairs of the Association.
The election held at the GHALCA Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium saw John Ansah elected the association's new chairman following his landmark victory.
He polled 95 votes to beat Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who managed 35 votes.
This victory marks the end of Kudjoe Fianoo’s lengthy tenure as chairman, as he steps aside to make way for Ansah’s leadership.
In the Vice Chairmanship race, Phyllis Marku successfully defended her position by defeating Nana Amankwaa Kwakye.
Ansah, with three terms of experience as a GHALCA executive member, is poised to lead the association with a vision centered on ethical governance and unity.
He pledged to drive GHALCA toward greater success while fostering collaboration among its members.
A total of 134 members participated in the elections, representing various sectors of Ghanaian football: 36 from the Premier League, 48 from Division One, 30 from Regional Football Associations (RFAs), and 20 from the Women’s Premier League.
Koomson’s bid for the chairmanship marked his third attempt, following unsuccessful campaigns against Fianoo in 2016 and 2020.
