Japan winger, Keisuke Honda has brought the curtain down on his international career following the loss to Belguim which knocked out the Samurai Blue's out of Russia 2018 World Cup.
Japan dramatically lost 3-2 to Belguim on Monday after a shocking leading 2-0 at the start of the second half with Genki Haraguchi and Takashi Inui scoring for the Samurai Blue side.
“I am concluding my career in the national team," Keisuke Honda said after the match.
"I am happy, because we have a lot of good young players, and now it is their turn to write the history of Japanese football. “For me, this is my last World Cup, there is no way I can think about four years down the line.â€
Keisuke Honda made his debut for the national team in 2008 and scored 37 goals.

Keisuke Honda, 32, came on as a sub and scored against Senegal in their group H encounter and is the only Asian player to score and register an assist in the last three World Cups.
