Know the dates for Black Stars AFCON 2021 fixtures

Four-times winners of the AFCON trophy, Ghana has been drawn with 1976 winners, Morocco, debutants Comoros and Gabon in the AFCON 2021 draw that took place at Yaounde on Tuesday.

 

 

 

In their quest to win the AFCON trophy since 1982, the Black Stars of Ghaha would have to qualify first of all from the group stages. Which of these stadia and when will their games come on?

Coach C.K Akonnor’s side will play their first two matches in Yaoundé before travelling up North to Garoua for the final Group C encounter.

The Black Stars will take on the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the opening match on Monday, January 10 at the Ahmadou Ahijo stadium in Yaoundé (16:00 GMT). Ghana will then play Gabon on Friday, January 14 on the same venue (19:00GMT) before battling Comoros on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua (19:00GMT).

The Black Stars are in search of their first Africa Cup of Nations title since 1982 and Coach Akonnor has been tasked to end the 32-year trophy in Cameroon.

The 33rd edition of the Cup of Nations will be played in Cameroon (five cities, six venues) from 9th January 2022 to 6th February 2022. 

The five cities to host the competition are Yaounde, Limbe, Bafoussam, Douala and Garoua. The five stadia which will serve as venues of attractions are Olembe satdium(Yaounde), Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium(Yaounde), Limbe stadium(Limbe), Kouekong satdium(Bafoussam), Japoma stadium(Douala) and the Roumde Adjia stadium (Garoua).
