Asante Kotoko has confirmed its return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the remainder of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors were forced to adopt the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) declared the Baba Yara Stadium unfit to host international games. This decision followed the Ghana v Angola match during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Subsequently, the National Sports Authority (NSA) temporarily closed the stadium to facilitate renovations.

With the completion of these renovations, Kotoko is set to resume playing its home matches at the iconic venue.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 28, the club expressed its excitement about the return.

“We are pleased to announce our return to the Baba Yara Stadium for our remaining home matches of the season. This decision was made following an official communication confirming the completion of maintenance work at our historic home venue,” the statement read.

This announcement also means the first Super Clash of the season between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the Matchday 13 games will be played at Baba Yara Sports Stadium once the Ghana Premier League resumes after the December 7 elections.
