Chairperson of the Women’s League board, Linear Addy, has called for the support of Government and the public as Ghana hosts the 2018 African women’s Championship.
The country has been given the nod to host the prestigious tournament next year. Cameroon hosted the 2016 edition won by the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
Linear Addy is hopeful Ghana can make a good impression if the Nation throws her weight behind the team.
“Cameroon was successful in hosting the tournament last year because they had the President’s support and the whole country was behind their team too...so all I ask of Ghanaians is to rally behind our Black Queens next year so that we surpass the standard Cameroon set.†She added.
The Black Queens came 3rd in Cameroon after a 1-0 win over Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the third place game. The Women's national team hopes to better that record when the tournament kicks off in November next year.
