Argentina scored a late goal to beat Nigeria 2-1 and qualify for the next stage of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
This was undoubtedly going to be one of the best games in the tournament as both teams needed a positive result.
Argentina started on the front foot with Messi receiving a precise pass from Ever Banega, the Barcelona forward made no mistake as he hit aright foot shot to score in the 14th minute.
At this point, the South Americans were cruising to a victory and held on the slim lead till half time.
The second half started with the Nigerians coming in strong and won a penalty after Javier Mascherano pulled down an opponent in the box.
Victor Moses stepped up and converted the spot kick in the 51st minute.
Nigeria were almost home and dry and defended well. Argentina kept pouring forward and got the decisive goal in the dying embers of the game.
A first time cross from the right was met by Rojo who made no mistake and hit a right foot shot to make it 2-1 to Argentina.
