Egypt suffered a second straight loss in the Russia 2018 World Cup as they were battered 3-1 by the host.
Both sides were determined to geta positive results as the game started with very intense attacking displays.
Chances fell to both sides but the first half ended barren.
Just two minutes into the second half, a shot towards the Egyptian goal was diverted in by their captain Ahmed Fathi.The Russians grew in confidence and deservedly scored their second goal on the 59th-minute mark through Denis Cheryshev.
The third goal followed shortly as striker Artem Dzyuba gave them a comfortable lead in the 62nd minute.
Egypt were given a lifeline in the 73rd minute when Mo Salah converted a penalty but Russia held on to win 3-1.

Russia are all but qualified to the next round with Egypt on the brink of elimination.
