France beat Uruguay by 2-0 to progress to the semi final of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
It was a boring first half as both were extremely conscious and therefore did not commit more men forward.
It was France who got the breakthrough. Bentancur fouled Tolisso, Griezmann floated the ball into the middle where Varane powered the ball with a bullet header to give the Les Bleus the lead.
The first half ended with France ahead.
In the second half on the 61st minute. France doubled their lead courtesy their number ‘7’ Griezmann who fired a shot at goal but Muslera committed a blunder mistakenly palming the ball straight into his own net.
The French were calm from that point as they knew they had a cushion.
Uruguay tried to respond by reducing the deficit but France dealt well with the blunt Uruguay attack.

France have made the semi final for the first time since 2006 and will face the winner of the game between Brazil and Belgium.
