Peru have gotten a happy packing after defeating Australia by 2-0 at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

It was a good show from Peru as compared to the previous two matches against Denmark and France respectively. Nothing was at stake for Peru as they would pack home after 90mins irrespective of the results.

Australia threw everything at Peru from the onset as they knew, a massive win for them and a win for France automatically will ensure their qualification.

Out of nowhere, Peru broke the deadlock on the 18th mins. Carrillo volleyed the ball from a cross past Mat Ryan with extreme power.

The goalkeeper stretched but had no chance.

Peru did enough to hold on the scoreline till halftime.

Five minutes into the second half, Peru doubled their lead through Paolo Guerrero. Guerrero pounce on a deflected ball of an Australian defender then clipped the ball into the far corner.

After the second goal, Peru began to dictate the tempo of the game, dominating possession and nearly added a third.

Flores struck the ball against the base of the post after receiving a laid-off pass from Guerrero, although it would not have counted if it had gone in as a Peru attacker was offside in the build up.
