The Ministry of Youth and Sports has issued a caution to Clubs that it would order the closure of any match venue where the Covid-19 Safety protocols are violated.

In a letter signed by Kenneth Annang, Public Relations Officer to the respective clubs participating in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, the Ministry indicated that they will not hesitate to order the closedown of any match venue that violates the 25 percent fans attendance rule and coronavirus regulations.

They, therefore, advised clubs to adhere to the coronavirus regulations to avoid any sanctions.

According to the Ministry, "we are concerned by the growing quest of fans who troop to the various stadium in their numbers to support their clubs in the midst of the Covid-19 partial stadium restrictions."

"We have noted the violation of the 25% restriction and other Covid-19 protocols at some league matches in recent times," protions of the letter read.

Meanwhile, GFA has turned down a request from Hearts of Oak seeking to admit more than 25% Stadium capacity in their Sunday game against Kotoko.

This comes on a back of a request by Hearts of Oak management seeking to admit a 75% stadium capacity against Asante Kotoko on Sunday, June 27 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

COVID-19 restrictions have allowed clubs to admit only 25% of stadium capacity for league games in the country but the Phobians wrote to the GFA and the National Sports Authority asking to be given special dispensation for the Super Clash, but the plea was rejected.

GFA through a statement has also informed the public that no tickets will be sold at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the game involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

According to the GFA, tickets rather will go on sale on Friday, June 25, 2021 and Saturday, June 26 at selected outlets.

The country's football governing body said the decision is to avoid overcrowding and mass gathering at the Stadium entrance hours leading to the Matchday 31 Ghana Premier League game
