Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey's dream of becoming the 2018 CAF African Player of the Year has been cut short after failing to make the 10-man shortlist.
CAF on Friday morning announced a pruned list from the initial 34-man list and it did not include the Atletico Madrid ace.
The shortlisted nominees were decided by votes from the members of the CAF Technical & Development Committee.
Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango will be named in the CAF best XI after making the final ten-man shortlist for the African player of the year.
He will be contesting for the final prize alongside Liverpool stars Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane for the awards that will be staged on Tuesday, 8th January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
