Ghanaian boxer and entertainer Bukom Banku born Braimah Kamoko says bleaching is a deep character trait.

Bukom Banku has been under harsh criticisms in the public eye for bleaching.

According to him, he will not heed any advice against bleaching since he is not the first person to bleach.

“Bleaching is my character from the beginning because Michael Jackson bleached himself, Ofori Amponsah bleached himself. Nobody should tell me that I should stop bleaching”, he said on GTV’s Breakfast Show.

The boxer who doubles as a musician added that “Nobody can change somebody. If you want to change, you change for yourself.”

However, early this year Bukom Banku admitted that bleaching is bad and added that his inspiration to bleach was to get people talking about to regain his falling popularity.

“Bleaching is not good but when the name is coming down and I do something and the name is coming up,”

He also stated that he regrets his actions and will never go back to his old ways since bleaching can endanger his health as a boxer.

He said, “Right now I am Black. I have stopped it because the big men in the nation gave me the advice to stop bleaching. The way when. I am bleaching and people talk too much, I don’t want to bleach again, it’s not good."
