Founder and Head Pastor of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyinasare, wants the police to rescind a plan to analyse prophecies on the night of 31 December 2021.
He said while the police must be commended for sanitising the airwaves against charlatans who prey on people fears through prophecies, they must do well not to interfere in deep spiritual matters.
“They should not use their scarce resources trying to analyse prophecies… If we are not careful, very soon they will be analysing our sermons and telling us what to preach,” Bishop Agyinasare warned.
Police in December of 2021 warned pastors and self-acclaimed prophets against doom prophecies that have the potential of causing fear and panic in the society during 31st watch night services.

And for the first time, the characteristic doom prophecies about the death of influential persons at 31st watch night services failed to happen as many pastors stayed their prophecies for fear of flouting the law.
Many commended the police administration but police subsequently issued another notice that it has received a lot of videos from watch night services regarding its directive against doom prophecies and would analyse and prosecute any man of God who flouts the law.
However, delivering a sermon at a church service at the headquarters of the Perez Chapel International on Sunday, January 9, Bishop Agyinasare said the police does not have the spiritual eyes to analyse what a prophet of God may have said.
He said because many pastors complied with the directive, except a few isolated instances, police should let the matter rest.
“As a Prophet, God can open my eyes to see that a church member may die if we don’t pray. I will have to tell them in secret not to create confusion,” he said.
The police do not have what it takes to analyse things of the spirit, he stressed.
