The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has issued a pressing advisory, urging all Ghanaian nationals in Lebanon to leave the country with immediate effect.

This directive comes after the rapidly deteriorating security situation in Lebanon, which poses a significant threat to Ghanaians living there.

“The rapidly unfolding crisis in Lebanon and its potential danger to Ghanaians living in that country, is a matter of great concern to the Government of Ghana,” the Ministry stated.

Ghanaians are encouraged to take advantage of the limited available flights in Lebanon to exit the country without delay.

For those without travel documents, the government advises contacting the Embassy of Ghana in Cairo, Egypt, or the Ghana Honorary Consulate in Beirut, Lebanon, to obtain Emergency Travel Certificates.

Contact Information: Embassy of Ghana in Cairo, Egypt:
– Telephone: +201554414228, +201095903184, +201007923232, +201095053354
– Email: mailto:cairo@mfa.gov.gh
– Honorary Consulate of Ghana in Beirut, Lebanon:
– Telephone: +9613400028, +9613554694

This warning from the Foreign Affairs Ministry follows similar advisories from other countries, including the UK, which has also urged its citizens to “leave immediately” due to intensified fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

The US Embassy has likewise cautioned against travel to refugee settlements in Lebanon, citing increased risks.
