Information Minister Designate, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says Ghana Beyond Aid agenda does not mean Ghana will not borrow.

In an interview with Prime News Ghana, at the CIMG Annual Strategic Marketing Conference at the Golden Tulip Oppong Nkrumah took his time to explain what the agenda meant.

He pointed out that Ghana Beyond Aid incorporates Ghana receiving grants from other countries to improve the lives of its Citizenry.

"Ghana Beyond Aid is essentially a vision and a paradigm that says we want to build a self-confident, optimistic people that are able to define our key priorities ourselves, fund it ourselves and execute it fully ourselves''.

He added that "Some people interpreted it that Ghana Beyond Aid means Ghana minus debt or Ghana will not refuse any grant that we get''. Also, we want to ensure that we identify our key priorities, fund them and execute them.

Furthermore, he stated that "While we are doing that, there is the need to add a debt option on a minimal base to it, we are not close to that. While we are meeting our objective, there is, for example, a grant programme we can tap into.  For a particular purpose we won't say because we are on Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda, all other resources are been rejected''.
