The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that Friday, November 8, 2024, will not be a public holiday, dispelling recent rumours circulating on social media.
This is in reference to the celebration of this year's Farmers' Day on Friday, November 8 due to the December 7 elections.
A statement issued by the Minister for Interior, Henry Quartey, on Tuesday, November said Friday, December 8 which marks Farmers Day remains a statutory public holiday across the country.
โThe general public is hereby informed that ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐, ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐๐ฒ even though the 2024 National Farmersโ Day will be observed on that day,โ
โHowever, Friday, 6th December 2024, which marks Farmersโ Day, remains a statutory public holiday and will be observed as such across the country,โ the statement said.
