Interior Ministry debunks November 8 holiday rumours

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that Friday, November 8, 2024, will not be a public holiday, dispelling recent rumours circulating on social media.

This is in reference to the celebration of this year's Farmers' Day on Friday, November 8 due to the December 7 elections.

A statement issued by the Minister for Interior, Henry Quartey, on Tuesday, November said Friday, December 8 which marks Farmers Day remains a statutory public holiday across the country.

โ€œThe general public is hereby informed that ๐…๐ซ๐ข๐๐š๐ฒ, ๐Ÿ–๐ญ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’, ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐Ž๐“ ๐š ๐๐ฎ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐œ ๐‡๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐š๐ฒ even though the 2024 National Farmersโ€™ Day will be observed on that day,โ€


โ€œHowever, Friday, 6th December 2024, which marks Farmersโ€™ Day, remains a statutory public holiday and will be observed as such across the country,โ€ the statement said.
