Ivorian President named Special Guest at Nana Addo’s swearing-in

Inauguration committee for the January 7, 2017, swearing-in of President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed that President of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara will be the Special Guest for the Saturday ceremony.

The committee also added that eleven other Heads of State from some African and European countries and some top diplomats are projected to arrive in Ghana on Friday ahead of Saturday’s programme.

Over 6,000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony which will the held at the independence square.

However, Director of Operations with the Ghana Police Service Chief Superintendent Dr. Benjamin Agordzo has assured their readiness to maintain high security across the country ahead of the inauguration and also warned that they would clamp-down on the actions of people who will use the opportunity to cause trouble during the inauguration.
