Lawyer for alleged coup plotters, Victor Adawudu has described government's report of an alleged takeover of the Jubilee House as a diversionary tactic.
According to lawyer Victor Adawudu, the statement by the government is only to divert peoples' attention from some of the happenings in the country.
Speaking to Citi FM after his clients were made to write a statement on their intention to create instability in the country,  lawyer Victor Adawudu said his clients have confirmed to him weapons were found on the premises of the Citadel Hospital but they have no knowledge about where they came from and who owns them.
"Yes it's true that some weapons were found on the premises of the Citadel Hospital it was confirmed to me by my clients but the rest of the things that they found and the statement of them trying to destabilise the country, I think that we should not glorify this. You charge people of offences but the onus is on you to prove, one was arrested Friday the others on Saturday even as at yesterday some military officers were also arrested who are believed to be behind bars at BNI, we wrote our statement yesterday while writing the statement nothing was said that when they were arrested they found this or that in their house, so it is amazing that the government comes with a statement and say that this is what we have found for me i see it more as a ... matter to just divert attention from happening in this country where citizens are complaining

"When they came in and said they are coming to search they walk straight to where the generator is and pick up the guns and there was a spoilt X-ray machine behind where the went and said the x-RAY machine was the thing that they are using to manufacture guns so that was confirmed to me as to how it was there and who is the owner of that arms is a different matter, they don't have an idea of who owns it...........that information that was put out, when I was there did not come up when we were writing the statement so I was surprised that when statement have not even being taken from the people and government prematurely come to the public and issue a statement....," he added.
