The Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly has moved in to prevent the closure of the Nungua Senior High School, by providing four mobile toilet facilities for the students.

Following a court order, the school risked closure because it lacked toilet facilities.

The headmistress of the school, Cecelia Asabea Boateng said the existing toilet facilities had to be demolished to pave way for the construction of a 24-seater capacity toilet by the World Bank.

The project which was started in May 2017 had however halted.

The LEKMA assembly has in the interim provided four mobile toilets fo be used by the students while it works at solving the problem permanently.

The Municipal Chief Executive of LEKMA, Evelyn Naa Adjeley Twum- Gyamrah said, “I have consulted the consultants so that at least we get some mobile toilets for now while the construction of the project is ongoing. We are looking at about four for now; two for the boys, two for the girls”.

She added that the Assembly will work at completing the construction of a 24 seater toilet facility which is ongoing under the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area Sanitation and Water project.

The Nungua Senior High School was given a verdict to shut down, Friday, November 24, by the LEKMA sanitation court for poor toilet facilities being used by over 1,500 students
