The Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II has advised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to be wary of backstabbers amongst his own appointees.
According to Otumfuor, the president must not tolerate acts of backbiting in his leadership, indicating that some persons around him will only be interested in issues that will result in his failure.
Counselling President Akufo-Addo at the Manhyia Palace when he paid a courtesy call to the Ashanti overlord, today April 1, 2017, the Asantehene added that no one in his government, apart from him, was voted for as president, so he [the President] must work to fulfil the promises he made to the Ghanaian electorate.
Otumfuor also said he would continue to give him [Akufo-Addo] the necessary support and guidance as he did for his predecessor, former President John Mahama.
The visit was part of President Akufo-Addo's three-day visit to the Ashanti Region.
