Quite a number of dignitaries have been trooping into the Nima residence of the President elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to congratulate him for emerging victor in the just ended 2016 election.
Dignitaries spotted include former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Vice President-elect Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Independent candidate in the 2016 election Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, former Minister in the Kufuor administration, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minority Leader in Parliament Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu amongst others.
President Mahama lost the presidential election to Nana Akufo-Addo on December 7, 2016 after voters went to the ballot to elect a new leader. He polled 4,713, 227 votes representing 44.40% of the total valid votes cast. Nana Addo the president-elect who will be sworn into office January 2017 polled 5,716, 026 votes representing 53.85%.
