Ghana is doomed if NPP wins in 2024 – NDC
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned Ghanaians that there will be grave implications for the public purse if the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is retained in 2024. Addressing a press conference on Monday, August 30, 2021, to respond to an earlier media engagement by the NPP, NDC Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, said Ghanaians are alarmed by the glaring cases of corruption under the current government and will vote out the NPP in the next general election.
Another ritual beheading as 12-year-old killed in Volta Region
Reports of a gruesome murder of a 12-year-old boy on the evening of Sunday, August 29 in the Volta Region, has upped the tally of bizarre killings linked to ritual activities. A 25-year-old resident of Mafi Dove in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region killed the young boy allegedly on the instruction of a 'prophetess' and has since been arrested, reports indicate.

ESLA Plc to undertake debt swap of GH¢1.2bn
ESLA Plc has announced an exchange offer for swapping GH¢1.2billion of Tranche E1 bonds due in October 2024 for Tranche E3 bonds due June 2029. Essentially, this exchange offer will restructure the maturity profile of the outstanding bonds by converting either the whole or part of the 2024 maturity into a 2029 maturity. It means there will be no need to wait for the 2024 bonds to mature before rolling into the Tranche E3 bonds due in 2029.
