A video meant to promote Valley View University has gone viral on social media, drawing mockery for the school.

The video, which shows some individuals singing about the mission and vision of the school, has drawn fire from social media who say it is a poor production that reflects badly on the university.

"Why this desperate advert? Are we not getting students to attend VVU anymore? And who sanctioned for this to be use to mkt the uni....its not cool!," a Facebook user, Joe Bee, wrote.

"Ahhhhhh is there a marketing manager there???????ahhhhh what???????? University n this is what they could come out with?????woooow," Nana Kojo Owusu also wrote.

The unrelenting condemnation and derision of the video from members of the public have prompted the SRC president of the university, Michael Adoni-Darrah, to distance the school from the video.

"... l wish to state the video is an unofficial, unilateral, poorly-edited and unfinished work of a zealous student who is desirous of promoting his beloved university.

"The video does not also meet professional standards and everyone knows Ghana's Premier Charted Private university is definitely better than that. We are trained to uphold excellence, integrity and service," he said.

He, however, defended the third-year student who said put out the video to promote the school.

"..the intentions of the artist (a third year student) were good. I am very amazed how a well-intended initiative of a student should be treated with this level of backlash," he said.
