2024 elections: Full list of 11 disqualified presidential candidates

The Electoral Commission of Ghana on Friday, September 20, 2024 announced the candidates approved to contest in the 2024 presidential election.

After what it said was a thorough vetting process, the EC approved 13 and disqualified 11 candidates out of the 24 who filed their nomination forms.

Notable among them are Bernard Mornah of the People's National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla, an independent aspirant.

2. Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC);
3. Kofi Asamoah Siaw of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP),
4. Samuel Apea-Danquah;
5. Desmond Abrefah;
6. Nana Stephens Adjepong;
7. Paul Perkoh;
8. James Kwesi Oppong;
9. John Enyonam Kwakwu Kpikpi;
10. Dr Samuel Sampong Ankrah
11. Nii Amu Darko.

A press release dated September 20, 2024, and signed by the deputy chairman, of operations, Mr. Samuel Tettey said: "Following the successful conduct of the filing of nominations from the 9th of September to the 13th of September, 2024, the commission instituted a thorough examination of the nomination forms submitted by the candidates to ensure conformity with requirements as set out in law."

Meanwhile, the thirteen (13) qualified include: Mahamudu Bawumia - New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Dramani Mahama - National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen - Independent Candidate, Christian Kwabena Andrews - Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Daniel Augustus Lartey Jnr - Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), George Twum-Barima-Adu - Independent Candidate, Nana Kwame Bediako - Independent Candidate, Akua Donkor - Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Hassan Abdulai Ayariga - All People's Congress (APC), Kofi Akpaloo - Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mohammed Frimpong - National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Akosua Frimpomaa - Convention People's Party (CPP), and Kofi Koranteng - Independent Candidate
