Alan Kyerematen postpones campaign tour of Ashanti Region

NPP flagbearer hopeful Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has postponed his Ashanti Region campaign tour.

The tour was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, July 28 and end on Thursday, August 3, 

But it has now been moved forward, according to a statement signed by Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Campaign Spokesperson and Director of Communications for Alan 4 President Campaign.

"The Ashanti Regional Constituency Cluster Durbar have been moved forward starting Monday, August 7 and ending Saturday, August 12.

“The change is to accommodate sensitive government and Parliamentary business due within the same period.”

Meanwhile, The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday, July 26 conducted balloting for its flagbearer hopefuls ahead of the special delegates conference next month.

Kennedy Agyapong will be the first name on the ballot for the special delegates conference.

 

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen picked the second position followed by Joe Ghartey, and Kwadwo Poku as number three and four respectively.

Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto picked the fifth position, with Kwabena Agyei Agyepong picking the sixth slot.

 

The last four slots went to Francis Addai-Nimoh, seventh; Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, eighth; Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko, ninth; and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at the 10th position.

The balloting of the positions on the ballot paper is for the special delegates conference of the party slated for August 26, 2023 to shortlist five out of the 10 aspirants for the November 4, 2023 presidential primary of the party.

The NPP will on August 26 select five aspirants who will contest in the final presidential primary on November 4, 2023.
