Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says the alleged Jubilee House takeover issue should not be politicized.
Oppong Nkrumah insisted “we are talking about the security of our state†and that “it does not matter who is in power,†he told JoyNews on Wednesday, September 26, 2019.
The Information Minister said the resolve of the administration to prevent discourse on the alleged government takeover from degenerating into a political banter informed the decision to leave out the names of specific politicians in the initial communiqué on the issue.

He then said we should be careful not to make it “Minority against the Majority.â€
His comments come on the back of Minority spokesperson on Defense and Interior, James Agalga, (Builsa North, MP) faulted the government’s approach to the takeover.
Mr. Agalga had said the government’s initial statement created panic since the charges slapped on the suspects in the alleged takeover has not related to treason or coup d’état.
The Information Minister's comments seem to be directed at his own party the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The two major political parties are known to rub an element of politics on every issue.
Meanwhile, the suspects have been remanded into BNI custody after charges of conspiracy to manufacture arms unlawfully were brought against them by prosecutors.
Lawyer for the suspects Victor Adawudu has described the whole issue as a setup and a drama.
He says the claims from the government that his clients planned a coup were fabricated.
The government on Monday announced a planned attack on the Jubilee House has been detected and foiled by a combined team of CID and BNI operatives.
The planned attack was intended to destabilise the country, the government said in a statement.
