The expelled former executive of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has refused to leave the party, citing reasons for his expulsion as untenable.

Mr Anyidoho has written to NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, demanding evidence of the acts of indiscipline that formed the basis for his expulsion from the party.

Mr Anyidoho is also demanding the supposed expulsion letter to guide his next line of action.

“I do not have any history of indiscipline per the records of the party,” he stated in the letter published below.

“I remain a loyal member of the National Democratic Congress,” he stressed.

Mr Anyidoho has been in an acrimonious relationship with the NDC for some time now.

In 2017, he caused a furore within the NDC when he openly praised President Nana Akufo-Addo for being a smart politician.

Many saw his comments as open support for the President and NDC’s main and fiercest political contender, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

NDC axed Mr Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary and Presidential Spokesperson, from the party for “misconduct” and “anti-party behaviour”.

The letter announcing his expulsion explained that the Disciplinary Committee found him guilty of the charges and recommended his removal from the party, a decision upheld by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party.

However, Mr Anyidoho seems unperturbed as he insists he is still a member of the party.
