The Quality Bus Transit System (QBS) will start with an Amasaman-Tudu route, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE), managers of the BRT, Sampson Gyamenah has disclosed.

He said though they were ready for the take off of the Quality Bus System, the implementation has been delayed because the system is undergoing a final calibration and fine-tuning,

"Plans are far advanced for the implementation of the QBS. We need 38 buses to begin operations and we are testing the equipment on each bus", he revealed in an interview on Citi FM's Breakfast Show on Tuesday.

According to him, the system will start with an Amasaman-Tudu service with one for Adenta expected to take off next year.

"The journey from Amasaman to Tudu takes about 90 minutes but because of our queue-jumpers, taking the QBS from Amasaman to Tudu is quicker than a trotro", he added.

The queue-jumpers, he explained, were technology in the QBS buses which will allow them to get green lights in traffic before other vehicles.
