Bawumia picks number 1 on ballot, Mahama 8th for 2024 presidential election

The Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday, September 20, 2024 conducted balloting for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Following Friday's balloting event held in Accra, NPP's Mahamudu Bawumia will be number 1 on the paper while the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), pick the 8th position.

  4. Christian Kwabena Andrews (GUM)
  5.  Kofi Akpaloo (LPG)
  6.  Moahmmed Frimpong (NDP)
  7. Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Kumankuma (CPP)
  8. John Dramani Mahama (NDC)
  9. Hassan Ayariga (APC)
  10. Kofi Koranteng (Independent)
  11. George Twum-Barima-Adu (independent)
  12. Nana Kwame Bediako (Independent)
  13. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremateng (Independent)

Earlier, Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the EC, announced that several presidential aspirants had been disqualified from participating in the December 7, 2024, elections due to their failure to correct errors on their nomination forms.

Despite being given ample time to address the issues, the disqualified candidates were unable to meet the necessary requirements.

Among those disqualified are Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP).
