The Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially postponed its scheduled hearing for former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo.

The former minister was initially expected to appear before the committee on Monday, April 7, 2025, following an earlier invitation dated March 24, 2025, over alleged misconduct.

She was accused of breaching a party directive that bars members from making public statements likely to cause disaffection within the party.

However, in a new letter issued on Sunday, April 6, 2025, the committee communicated the change of plans.

“I bring you warm greetings from the national secretariat of the party. Further to our earlier correspondence dated March 24, 2025, with reference number NPP/HQ/GS/2025/24/03/DC, inviting you to appear before the Disciplinary Committee on Monday, April 7, 2025, we wish to notify you that the said hearing has formally been postponed,” the letter read.

According to the committee, the decision to postpone the hearing was due to “emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations.”

A new date is yet to be announced, but the party has assured that the matter will be revisited in due course. The development adds another layer to the ongoing concerns surrounding internal party discipline as the NPP gears up for key political activities in the coming months.
